I baby sat the Leacock children when they lived in Greenwich Village N.Y.C. he was married to Happy that’s what the family called her Richard would drive me home at night after babysitting for him he was a very kind man he paid me well it was. interesting to me when I was 14yrs. old to listen to him talking about documentary film making his children was lovely children always well behaved I never walked home at night if I baby sat for the Leacocks Richard Mr. Leacock always drove me home he said he didn’t want me walking alone at night it wasn’t safe I have fond memories of the Leacock family.

Oh, what an inspiration Richard Leacock has been to the world of cinema. This is a great loss for you, Victoria, and for all his family. I would add, however, that few of us forge paths as remarkable as his. It was an honor to have met him so often, this man who walked with giants...and filmed them, too!
