Francis Stephen “Steve” Leacock, 71, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at King’s Daughters’ Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.
He was born on February 26, 1954, in Fredericksburg to the late Robert “Bob” Edward Leacock and Evelyn Etta Wimmer.
Steve worked as a retail sales associate at Staples. He never met a gadget he didn’t want to figure out, and he genuinely enjoyed helping others navigate the ever-changing world of technology.
Outside of work, Steve’s heart belonged to the stage. He proudly performed and sang with local theatre troupes in the Fairfax area. Singing was his greatest passion.
Steve was a voracious reader, and he always had something to say - even when, perhaps, he shouldn’t have said it - but it was part of his charm. Steve kept life interesting.
He also loved a good dad joke, and his humor lightened the mood and reminded those around him not to take life too seriously.
He is survived by his daughter, Cami Lynn Leacock; his son, Jesse Allyn Leacock; his sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Leacock Givens and Denise “Dee Dee” Elaine Leacock Miles; his niece, Kinley Miles Ford; and his nephews, Aidan Miles, and Matt and Max Givens.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Henry Funeral Home.
