Rosemarie,
I just found out that your husband passed away. My heart goes out to you. You were always so gracious as a fellow HSE.
I have family that lives in West Liberty, and although I never met your husband, I have heard nothing but good things about him.
I will keep you in my prayers.

Mr. Gold, what a friend! I will always remember the small glimpse of Joe Dan's life that I was able to share, while at Williamstown. I truly enjoyed our afternoon golfing days. A big man with a big heart! I am so sorry to hear of his passing; My heart is forever saddened, my memories are full. What a pleasure to have known such a wonderful family and such a unique man. May our paths cross again, and if not then, I have been satisfied by his presence. Remembering the good times, always I remain in gratitude.

Joe Dan believed all students -in native west KY or in east KY (Fleming, Morgan), were "Gold"en. He & Rosemarie helped thousands of students receive high quality educations.

As a student at MSU the same time Joe Dan played basketball for coach Babe, I will always remember the great times we all had at the gym when Joe Dan, Leland and Red represented MSU and won the SEC three years running. Joe Dan was a credit to his family and friends and MSU. To see his picture shaking hands with Jerry Harkness in the national obituary picture playing the eventual national champion was a sight to remember. God bless the Joe Dan Gold family, he was, in a few words---good people.

My heart goes out to Ms. Gold, his son Doug and his daughter Jo Marie. I had the opportunity to play for Coach Gold. He always treated each of us with the upmost respect and provided the guidance and encouragement that each of us needed. A true professional who has help guide me with my career and push me to the next level. I always enjoyed and will greatly miss our future conversations. He was always only a phone call away. Today was a difficult one to say goodbye to a great man.

To the family of Mr. Gold, He was my principle at FCHS (class of '89) and kept me inline for the 4 years I was there. We did not see eye to eye on a lot of things but there was a mutual respect between us and I still carry memories of him to this day. He was a great guy and will be missed by many. R.I.P. Mr Gold.

To The Family Of Coach Joe Dan Gold,
My association with Coach Gold began when he was coaching basketball at Miss. State Univ. and I was the "dorm daddy" in Evans Hall for his basketball team. That was in 1967-1969. He was a great teacher and coach, a leader of men. I have always had great respect for him. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. May GOD bless you and sustain you through this time of great loss. Coach will be truly missed by all who knew him. Please tell Billy I said "Hello".

I met Joe Dan after he moved to West Liberty, Ky. to be the school superintendent. He was a member of the Kiwanis club there and it was his idea and encouragement that pushed me to become the Lt. Governor of our district. He was a good man and always an encourager. Proud to be able to say I knew him. May the Lord bless and comfort his family.

To the family of Joe Dan in this sorrowful time, may God bless. I am from KY. and played for Coach at MSU in 69-70. My memories are of a first class coach and friend to all the players. We did not win enough games for Coach, but I smile when I think of Coach and how confident he was in everything in life.
