Uncle Jim was also my god father. as a child I never really approached him much, he and my father were deep in "business talk". hanging out at his house was always fun with Jimmy, Mark, and Eric - my dad called Eric (farley) as a small child. They were like brothers to me. I hung out alot at the Vans factory growing up as my father was dedicated to the company. My dad and I started the first Vans bargin truck at the swap meet. Handing out fliers for a store wide sale with the now godfather of Vans Steve Van Doren or watching him make a meatball sub at the Nana Vans sub shop. Yes, those were the days. we all had a good time and some still are. Jim Van Doren will be missed, he made his mark. he will be in my heart always.

Sorry to hear about Jame's death. I lived in SoCal for most of my life and lived in my Van's growing up. When I relocated to Northern Ca. a lady approached me and ask where did you get those shoes? and told her where and after that, They were the best selling shoes in her store. Your an Icon and you will be missed. Huge Van Fan & Off The Wall.....RIP
