Christopher Legg Obituary

Christopher's years were defined by courage in the face of daunting illness.
Diagnosed with skin cancer and Osgood-Schlatter disease - an illness which can cause painful inflammation in the knees of young athletes - Christopher nevertheless loved to play sports and "roughhouse and wrestle with his Daddy" and his brother and sister, according to a statement issued by the family.
He was among the children inside Plaza Towers when the tornado hit.
"He is not in pain, but in joy with our Lord," the statement said.
"He was greatly loved by all who knew him," the family said. "He never met a stranger. You were always a friend in his eyes. Just last Sunday, his grandfather remarked that Christopher was going to play center for the University of Oklahoma someday."

Never even been to Oklahoma but am saddened for the Legg family that a child was taken from them by that tornado. As a father I cannot even imagine losing one of my boys. Please accept my condolences.

I know that there really are no words of comfort. I can only tell you how very sorry we are. Mothers everywhere are pausing when they are overwhelemed by their children., their noise and mess. To live life as he did, with the attitude he had, should be every other person's aspiration -- embracing difficulties with cheerfulness and love, and approaching everyone as a friend. And now -- in addition to all that -- Christopher is affecting countless lives around the world, in a way more profound than most people could ever dream of in a lifetime. At the same time, I am so, so sorry for your loss -- and I wish I could step back in time and bring him back. Though I never knew him, I can tell you this entire earth feels emptier without him. May God hold you and console you. Christopher was one of my favorite players when we were the Bad News Bears. Monty and I loved working with him. He always came to pratice with the best attitude. Danni you and Ross are wonderful parents and it showed so much in how respectful Christopher was. Monty and I and Braxton will never forget him. He touched our hearts. Such a special boy.
