This weekend we are holding an IEA Horse Show in Scottsdale, AZ. All riders will be wearing purple armbands and wristbands with Claire's name. Mr. & Mrs. Davis,
We write this note with a heavy heart after Claire's passing. We know you have been inundated with the thoughts and prayers of so many and we will add ours. I know people have been telling you they "know how you feel", but unless they have lost a child they have no clue. Unfortunately we have experienced that loss, having lost our beautiful Lauren at Columbine on April 20, 1999. Claire reminds us so much of Lauren in the things we've read, it has taken us back to that day and the incredibly helpless feelings you have. Our hearts are broken for you and all your family and friends, and we want you to know if you ever have a need to sit and talk we would be honored to share stories, laughter, smiles and tears about our beautiful daughters. We know that Claire has risen to heaven and we can only hope that she and Lauren have met, we think they would be fast friends.

Nothing will bring Claire back, but I look at her beautiful smile and read about her love of horses and I know she had a good life. No words will help her family, but I hope someday they will read about all the good thoughts about their daughter. When she was here on earth she loved life and that says a lot about her upbringing...not a huge help right now but I am pretty sure we have a new angel in heaven.
