Jehovah God gives hope & strength for those who have lost a dear loved one. May you & your family have peace through the scriptures, that we are all precious to God. Matthew 10:29-31 Two sparrows sell for a coin of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's knowledge. 30But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows.

One of the few role models I've always looked up to, after having met him personally in Vienna a couple of years ago. The world has lost a brilliant scientist, writer and thinker; my condolences to the family.

This man was an artist in science. Not just any artist but one of the Great Artists of Science! His gift of innovation was to translate good ideas into realities that had impact. In so doing, his contributions helped to shape and truly change the world. And as a measure of the power of his art? His science changed all our lives in such magnificent and beautiful ways. The heavens are blessed by your arrival Dr. D! Just as our lives were blessed by your presence here. Thank you for making the world around us all a better place! Love and admiration always!

I always remember him and his gracious family as they welcomed my daughter into their family. She was a RN, new to SF from STL, MO and missed her own siblings. They all treated my daughter, Linda, as their own and me, as well when I visited. This man was gracious, talented, educated and a gift in every way to society. We will all miss him. My condolences to his family and friends.

.....I'd just walk downstairs from the WSJ lab and into Carl's lab looking for chemicals and he'd ask what I was working on and how could he help I just saw him at the Chiron Cetus "reunion" laughing with him and other students. He's a greatly missed scientific character CKM

"Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth" (Matt. 6:9,10). We await that day when this prayer will be fulfilled and Carl will be united again with loved ones.
