I regret that the last time Mr. Almond was in Campbellton, N.B for a book signing, I was in Ontario. I had discussed possible locales for this event, he chose the one I recommended. I had wished for another Alford Saga and another conversation or email and another time that he might come again.
I had a very small bit in one of his films made in Shigiwake. When he was awarded the Order of Canada, I congratulated him and asked if I should now call him "Lord Paul" and he said to call him "Polly Wolly". Despite my wee bit of time with him in person, he remembered me and where I was from. For that, I think he had more greatness than for his famous talents. Sad that he is gone. Fondly remembered,

Please accept my sincere condolences. At Psalm 56:8 David pleaded to God: "Do put my tears in your skin bottle. Are they not in your book? Like David I know that God is aware of your pain and what you
are going through emotionally. He will give you what you need to live each day

My wife and I were fortunate and privileged to meet and befriend Paul here in Ottawa. He was such a sincere, genuine and heart-centered man whose films also had a huge influence on me as a young man. They speak to the man that he was and always will be.
