Dora Doll Obituary
Doll died Sunday at her home in Gard, France. No cause of death was announced.
Doll was born Dorothea Hermina Feinberg May 19, 1922, in Berlin. She was discovered by Abel Gance in her teens and cast in his 1940 film, "Paradis Perdu" ("Lost Paradise"). During her career spanning 70 years, she worked with the directors Jean Renoir, Claude Chabrol, Henri-Georges Clouzot and Philippe de Broca, among others.
In the U.S., Doll was seen in "Pardon My French," "The Young Lions," "Any Number Can Win" and "Julia." In the latter film, she played the female passenger who accompanied the writer Lillian Hellman, played by Jane Fonda, as Hellman smuggled $50,000 through Nazi Germany for her friend Julia, played by Vanessa Redgrave. In "The Young Lions," she acted alongside Marlon Brando.
In the late 1990s, she played the grandmother Louise Chantreuil on the French television soap opera series "Tide of Life." She was the mother of Gerard Chantreuil, played by Paul Barge, and the mother-in-law of Claude Jade's character, Anna Chantreuil.
In 2000, she was knighted in France's National Order of Merit.
Doll continued working into her 90s. In 2010, she acted on a French TV mini-series, "Les Chataigniers du Desert."

Dora Doll lived long and she lived well doing the thing she most enjoyed. May the words at 1 Peter 5:6-7 that God cares very much for each of us individually grant you some comfort. He will see you through your grief. My condolences!

So sorry to hear about Dora. God's Word says the span of our life is 70 years, or 80 if one is especially strong. Ps. 90:10 Dora was especially strong.
