Sandy Pearlman Obituary
Pearlman's friend Robert Duncan announced the news in a Facebook post, writing, "Sandy Pearlman, poet, writer, songwriter, producer, manager, professor, polymath, visionary, passed peacefully, surrounded by love, at 12:30 am, July 26, 2016, in Marin County, California.”
He was known best for founding, co-managing, and producing many albums by the rock band Blue Oyster Cult. He co-produced the band’s hit song “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” in 1976. He also produced the Clash album “Give ’Em Enough Rope,” which was released by CBS Records in 1978.

He was one of the first rock critics, becoming a writer for the music magazine Crawdaddy in 1966. Some people give Pearlman credit for coming up with the phrase “heavy metal” while working for the publication.
He also managed other bands besides Blue Oyster Cult. He managed Black Sabbath from 1979 to 1983 and also the new wave band Romeo Void.
Pearlman was one of the founders in the late 1990s of emusic.com. The site was one of the first to sell downloadable mp3 tracks online. He was also a distinguished chair of music at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

I am very sorry for your lost. He soundes like a great person and people should not have to experience this type of pain. Isiah 25:8 tells us that Jehovah God will swallow up death and wipe away tears. He can not lie and promises this to us so we can have faith that this will happen one day. I hope peace can be with the family affected by this lost.
