Alexis Arquette Obituary
Alexis was born Robert Arquette. She documented her transition to a woman in the 2007 film, “Alexis Arquette: She's My Brother.”
According to a Facebook post from her brother Richmond, Alexis died Sunday morning surrounded by her family.
"Our brother Robert, who became our brother Alexis, who became our sister Alexis, who became our brother Alexis, passed this morning September 11, at 12:32 am," Richmond posted on Facebook. "He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones. We were playing music for him and he passed during David Bowie's Starman. As per his wishes, we cheered at the moment that he transitioned to another dimension.

Arquette started acting at the age of 12. She received her first major role when at 19 when she played the cross-dresser Georgette in the movie “Last Exit to Brooklyn.” Other movie appearances included “The Wedding Singer.”
Patricia Arquette tweeted the video for "Starman" early Sunday with the caption, "Breaking through the veil singing Starman."
Richmond added in his post, "He died as he lived, on his own terms. I am immensely grateful that it was fast and painless. It was an incredibly moving experience and I am humbled and grateful to have been able to have been with him as he began his journey onward."

My family has come to share many laughs and tears with this family in their films. Although we didn't personally know any of them,we feel their loss and weap for their suffering. Our deepest sympathy and brotherly love go out to all of them.
