Marilyn Hall Obituary
Hall won an Emmy as executive producer of the 1985 TV movie “Do You Remember Love,” a film about the effects of Alzheimer’s disease that starred Joanne Woodward and Richard Kiley.
Marilyn and Monty Hall were married in September 1947. They were both natives of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She started her career as an actress and writer with the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.
The couple moved to New York, New York, where she became a published songwriter. She co-wrote “Is It Possible That I’ve Been Gone So Long,” which was recorded by the cabaret singer Hildegarde.

She was an associate producer of the 1982 Emmy-winning television movie “A Woman Called Golda,” starring Ingrid Bergman and Leonard Nimoy. She was the executive producer of the four-part miniseries “The Ginger Tree.”
Hall was also a television writer who wrote an episode of “Love, American Style” and the ABC special “Lights, Camera, Monty.” She also wrote book reviews for the Los Angeles Times.
Hall was known for her philanthropy. She was involved with many charities including the Julia Ann Singer Child Care Center, Guardians of Courage, the Jewish Home for the Aging, and Variety Clubs International.
In an interview with the Archive of American Television, Monty Hall recalled how he met Marilyn.
After he moved to Toronto, his cousin told him that “we have another cousin on the other side of the family, not related to you, and she’s an 18-year-old actress on the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. You should meet her.”
“I said, ‘I don’t think I want to meet an 18-year-old actress.’ I was almost 24; that was too much for me. But I did meet her, and when I met her, it was game over. We were married a year later.”
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Joanna Gleason, an actress; a son, Richard Hall, a writer and director; another daughter, Sharon Hall, the president of Endemol Shine Studios; and five grandchildren.

To the Hall my condolences go out to you I am a fan of your mom and dad as I'm typing this I am watching a marathon for Monty Hall and I watch every episode tattletales beat the clock and Let's Make a Deal which was my favorite.. your mom and dad lived long loving beautiful lives and they also branched off as family tree which can keep their name going on and on... your mom was 90 and your dad was 96 they had a lot of beautiful years together and I know you have lots and lots of memories and pictures so enjoy them God bless you God keep you amen

Im so sorry to hear about Monty passing. While reading about his passing I learned of Marilyns passing as well in June. So kind and generous. They were a dynamic couple. I will always remember her calm demeanor. Rest In Peace M& M together again.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of your Mother and now Father. Your parents were both good friends of mine on Variety International Board. I produced many shows with Monty and worked closely with Marilyn on writing manuscript tributes honoring some of the best. The last show we all worked on together was for Barbara for Frank Sinatra at the LA Ballroom. Wonderful people with great respect and love to both.

I just found out Marilyn passed away. Sending my condolences to Monty and all the family. I have never forgot the kindness and caring Marilyn and Monty gave to the Variety Club kids. She touched thousands of lives. Those lives hold a piece of Marilyn in their hearts. God Bless You.

I am truly so sorry to hear the passing of your wife Marilyn Hall, i read that she was a talented person. when i was growing up i do remember watching Television Game Show that Monty hosted "LET MAKE A DEAL", i love the show, i was a big fan.There are no words that anyone could say how are you feeling, for the pain your family is going through the lost of a wife/mother.
