Carol Hall Obituary
Carol was born on December 17, 1945, in West Frankfort, Illinois to Alexander "Curly" and Hazel (Bowman) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Leon Hall on November 1,1964, at the United Methodist Church of Zeigler. They had shared 61 years of marriage.
Carol was a 1963 graduate of Zeigler High School. She attended the Zeigler Methodist Church most of her life. She loved to shop. Her and Jerry made a deal that she could shop and he could fish. Together they loved to travel. They had visited 49 states only missing out on Hawaii. Alaska was one of her and Jerry's favorite states they visited. She was a caretaker, taking care of her son, Leon, until last year. Carol enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family, especially great granddaughter, Luna.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hall of Zeigler; two children, Leon Hall of Marion, Lara (Doug) Rathbun of Marion; one granddaughter, Emma Tuttle (Gary Akin) of Zeigler; one great granddaughter, Luna Tuttle of Zeigler; one sister, Susan (Paul) Jarvis of Zeigler; one brother, Russell (Susie) Johnson of Cuba, Illinois; dog, Buddy and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ardeth Oatman and brother-in-law, Melvin Oatman.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton with Pastor Jason Todd.
Memorial contributions may be made to City of Zeigler. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery on the day of the service.
Vantrease-Pyle Funeral Home in Zeigler is entrusted with the arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear of Carol´s passing. A childhood friend, wonderful mother and wife, Carol always had a beautiful smile and kind word for everyone she met. My sincere condolences to Jerry, Susie and all her family. Mary Ann & Art Brandon
