To say you were a toaster of ska music, would be like saying The Beatles were a pop band.
You brought to the punk music world a Jamaican color, flavor, heritage and joyfulness that was without equal, and yet you espoused multiculturalism with The Beat that showed we can treat each other as equals.
We pray for your family, your children, your friends and all who had the blessing of getting to you know you most. And we shall honor you and continue to sing and dance to your songs, and show the love of fellow man as you did throughout your life.
Your light shined bright for many years, and although it was dimmed way to soon, your legacy is intact, and your songs will forever leave open the doors of our hearts.

I remember 20 odd years ago having the pleasure of playing Roller Hockey most weekends with Ranking. - He was much better than me! I remember he used to skate pretty much everywhere during that time. Those were happy days and memories I can still remember well now. Thinking of your family and close friends during this sad time.

I've opened on the stage in Japan in about 1985 ( giving to speech about 20 minutes to lots to Japanese !) before Beat come on. Ranking Roger was the very good friend in Japan . Too young to die !

Ranking Roger was so fun to listen to and helped a young half asian woman to deal with racism in Canada in the 1980's with dance beats that kept her spirits up. Loved you. Thanks for the music!
