The first memory I have Al comes from the very first time he ever did a snap chat. It was his first time ever and he and I made it a fun event. Later he gave me the only name shout out in the audience. I was very surprised being the only person called by name at such a major event. He left me a good message to keep up the good work and to have best of luck with all his wishes. Great memories with a great man.

Al was the person who introduced me to Neil Armstrong at the Apollo 15 40th anniversary celebration at Kennedy Space Center back in 2011, telling Neil that I was his "stunt double" :). In fact, Al's daughter Alison once came up to me from behind and said "Hi daddy!", which Al thought was pretty funny! Al, fly straight and true and save me a spot when you finally touch down. I'm buying the first round! I will miss my friend quite a lot.

From a 'grateful nation'!

From a grateful nation, world, neighbor, and friend. Your unearthly and earthly contributions earned you the highest respect and the greatest honors (from West Point, to the Moon, and now to Heaven). Your extraordinary, yet ordinary, humility made you a genuine national treasure. Your story lives on in all of us touched through your human kindness (es). For 88 years we were blessed with your inclusion in this world, and now God couldn't resist any longer to bring you home...I hear your voice re-telling your stories and relating it to all ages, all genres, all humankind. You taught us 'kindness' is simple, 'respect' is earned, 'responsibility' is a calling. Col. Al Worden, your final flight to a place you were always pursuing is complete on the runway of heaven!

I worked with Al on a project back in 1990. He was a great guy and easy to work with. I was a software programmer and he gave me direction on what he needed for his project. Didn't realize he was an Apollo Astronaut until another employee told me. Seem to be very modest about his accomplishments. I was proud to know him. Condolences to the family and Rest In Peace Al.
