I met Fred in late 1979. I was at a pivotal point in my life and he inspired me to find my place in life by just being a supportive friend. His children brought me joy and laughter just by being themselves. I’ve never forgotten my time as secretary/librarian for the Keweena Tribal Center. RIP Fred. God bless you and your family.

Never knew the man but felt like i did because of my former coworker Judy. She used to tell me lots of stories about him as she was also from the UP.
Rest in peace Mr. Dakota.
