Megan Syentil Dakota, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Megan led a life filled with love, dedicated service, and remarkable accomplishments.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Megan exemplified courage and commitment, traits that would carry through to all aspects of her life. Following her military service, she pursued her education with determination, earning an Associate Degree that would serve as a foundation for her professional career. She became a respected legal instruments examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact.
Megan's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Erving Pinell Williams, who stood by her side through life’s ups and downs. Together, they created a nurturing home for their daughters, Jhoanica Merideth Johnson and her husband Rickey Johnson, Asia Williams and Felithia Brown. Also, their son Herman Smith and his wife Desiree Smith all of whom carry forward Megan’s legacy of kindness and resilience.
Her family circle extended with the blessings of grandchildren – Rickey Johnson Jr., Kamiah Johnson, Bianca Johnson, Gabrielle Glover, Brianna Harris (the loving mother of Hermiani and Alaia) and Corion Glover and his companion Carnisha Perry – each of whom brought her endless pride and happiness. Megan embraced her role as "the Nanna" with open arms, doting affectionately on her great-grandchildren, Aamarii Glover, Korion Glover, Kai Glover, Kaiell Glover, Zahir King Carroll, Hermiani Glover, Ayana Glover and Alaia Harris, who filled her days with laughter and light.
