MY deepest condolences to the Zell family, I met Samuel on Facebook...He was my friend (a pen pal more like) He helped me thru my darkest time. We talked about family and life. My Facebook was compromised last May of 23 and I lost touch with him and I had just Googled him and seen he passed away on my Birthday. I never met him in person but it saddens me deeply. He was an amazing soul. May God bless his soul. My thoughts and prayers are with the Zell family. We joked because my last name is Ro...Zell!...I called him Sir Samuel I will miss my friend

I’m sorry for your loss. May your memories give you peace and comfort of your loved one. Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for the loss of your loved one. May GOD be with you all during this difficult time. 1 Thessalonians 4:14For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus.

For many years he was an inspiration to so many of us that socialized and skied and played in Sun Valley , Idaho . From his motorcycle rides to his paint ball events . He took calculated risk, and usually made good. If you do not get in the game, you will never win.

I went to work for Sam as his attorney from 1969 through 1970. At that time it was just Sam, Bob Lurie (RIP), a secretary named Millie and myself. We did many real estate deals for a sophisticated law firm, LKB&L. Sam was a force of nature, brilliant beyond belief, very direct and with a boisterous sense of humor. I had the privilege of working with Sam on deals all over the U.S. To travel with Sam on business you had to have "the endurance of a marathon runner", 8:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m. every day. Sam was a "pedal to the metal" guy, as also manifested by his skiing, motorcycling and driving style. It was indeed a pleasure to work for Sam and there are many fond memories to remember.
