Carole Richmond

Carole "Elaine" Lillie Richmond (Averill) was born July 5, 1951, in Westfield, New York, the only daughter to Marguerite and Edwin Averill II. She passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022, after complications from a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Preceding her in death was her brother, Rahland Averill, and parents.

Carole is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Gary Richmond, with whom she celebrated 22 years of bliss, travel and happiness. She also leaves to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lisa Helkenberg and husband, Travis, Sara Burns and husband, Thomas; stepsons, Rhett and Christopher Richmond; grandchildren, Emilio and Alejandro Cariman, Matthew and Averill Hansen, Connor and Scarlett Richmond; great granddaughter, Cambria Cariman; and siblings, Gary Averill and wife, Allyson, and Edwin Averill,III and wife, Sherry; along with a host of friends and other relatives.

A true visionary and Renaissance woman, Carole was a talented painter and artist. Many of her works reflected nature or portraits. She was an avid birdwatcher and loved all animals. Carole was a warm and kindhearted person, always aspiring to be thoughtful and generous. She was creative and fun and had a wonderful sense of humor with a contagious laugh. Her guidance and love will be missed by all who knew her spirit. She leaves a legacy of strength for future generations to admire.
