Thomas D. Soulier
TOMAH - Thomas D. Soulier, 77, of Tomah passed on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Tomah Health.
He was born on October 9, 1944, to Robert M. and Ruth A. (Nordin) Soulier in Bayfield, WI. Tom attended Bayfield High School Graduating Class of 1962. Upon graduation, Tom enlisted into the United State Army serving for 8 years. While stationed in Washington D.C. he met the love of his life, Patricia M. Voight and they were later married on November 4, 1970. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2020. Upon Tom's discharge from the service, they moved to Tomah. Tom worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah for 30 years as a certified nursing assistant, which allowed him the opportunity to continue to serve his fellow brothers and sister in arms. He was a past American Legion Post #201 member. Tom was a loving family man and undoubtedly the proudest grandpa around. Spending time with his grandchildren for anything and everything brought him a tremendous amount of joy. Tom would like to leave you all with a favorite quote of Laura Ingalls Wilde "Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember with tears, then do not remember me at all."
He is survived by his daughters: Sandra Jensen and Catherine VanZee both of Tomah; six grandchildren: Tamara Jensen of WI Rapids, Tomas Jensen of Warrens, Maggi Neas of WI Rapids, Miranda VanZee of Tomah, Kacey VanZee of WI Rapids, and Josh VanZee of Tomah; three great-grandchildren: Quintin, Kayden, Lainie, siblings, Doug (Christine) Boutin of Menomonee, MI, Robert (Rose) Soulier of Virginia, Bill (Missy) Soulier and Dennis Soulier both of Bayfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Diane (Craig) Pierce of Woodstock, IL, Paul (Sharon) Voight of McHenry, IL, Ted (Divina) Voight of Prentice, WI, Rick (Julie) Voight of Johnsburg, IL, special friends, Steve Jensen, C.J. VanZee, Ricky Merchant, Tammie Robson, and Pastor Darin Deford and family. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Theodore and June Voight, his wife, Patricia, a grandchild, Jordan, sister-in-law, Virginia Soulier, and brothers-in-law and Gary Taylor, Phil Voight and Don Voight.
