Alderman, Jeffrey
BRUNSWICK - Jeffrey Alderman, 64, of Grange Rd., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, after facing a series of health challenges with remarkable grit.
Son of the late Catherine "Sandy" Cross and LeRoy Norman "Fred" Alderman, Jeff was a lifelong resident of Brunswick, and a graduate of Tamarac High School. He worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter, before joining ITZ Security, Inc., where he retired in 2020.
Jeff was truly one of a kind, and to know him was to love him. He was opinionated and enjoyed a good debate, but beneath the tough exterior, he was incredibly kind and generous, always showing up when it mattered most. Unlike the saying, Jeff was both a jack and a master of all trades. He approached everything he did with exceptional care, and when he took on a hobby, he immersed himself completely, learning all he could, and mastering every detail along the way. In everything he did, he was eager to share his knowledge with others.
An avid outdoorsman, Jeff was a skilled hunter and fisherman with an impressive green thumb, tending his many plants with patience and care. Whether in the kitchen, on the grill, or at the smoker, Jeff was a fantastic cook who never quite understood the concept of moderation, he always made far more than enough and delighted in sharing. He found great joy in camping and boating on the Great Sacandaga Lake, where he explored every bay, channel, and shoreline and rarely missed a sunset.
In addition to his parents, Jeff was predeceased by his wife, Jill Garfoli; three brothers, David M. Alderman, N. Scott Alderman and T. Mark Alderman; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Reiser. He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Cynthia Alling; several nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends who became like family. He shared a special bond with his nephews, John (Karen) D'Amico and David Alderman; his guidance and daily doses of humor will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m.
