Nick, yesterday was a hard one. Its so hard to believe that 5 years have gone by already. The pain isn't the "intense not able to breathe" pain as it was at first, but more like a deep sadness knowing you will never come home to us. You will never marry and have kids, never know all the young cousins that were to young or not even born yet. You will never know how proud we are for the ultimate sacrifice you made to keep us safe at home and for that I am eternally grateful. We all miss you more than you will ever know. And we also thank each and everyone of you who continue to send prayers and notes of condolence.
It means a lot to Nicks family to know that he hasn't been forgotten. RIP Nick, till we meet again.

Your death was not in vain. The head of the snake has been cut off. I do not condone a life for a life, but it is nice to know the Al Quida is down one master mind. I love you and miss you.

Nick,

I will never forget the times watching you play with the kids. The way you looked out for everyone and made sure they played fair. I remember the many occasions when you "bummed a meal," as you called it. Your rough housing in the yard and the visit to me before you flew out. I know I was not a huge part of your life, but enjoyed every minute we had. I wish I could have given you proper tribute at the time, but you will always live on in my heart. I am glad you enjoyed my cooking and visiting with your cousins. I know you are standing tall and I am proud of the man you became. You are forever in my heart and not a day goes by that I do not miss you. Your passing has created incredible changes in many. I want you to know that you mattered and your sacrifice was the ultimate show of courage and love of your country. We appreciate that sacrifice and that of your fellow USMC brothers. Thank you Nick.

You're still here in my heart and mind,
still making me laugh cause your stories live on.
I hold you in a thought and I can feel you.
I feel you and this gives me strength and courage.
The tears I have cried for you could flood the earth
and I know you have wiped each one away.
For you Brother, I promise you this,
I will go on with my life and make you proud. I will always hold you in my heart.
I promise you I will be missing you everyday till the end of time,
but this is not my end and I can't hold my head underwater....I need to breathe.
I need to love and miss you, but I also need to live because through me you will live,
you will still laugh and love,
you will still sing and dance,
you will still hug and kiss.
You will forever be in our lives,
you will forever be a brother,
a son,
a cousin
and friend.
I am going to miss your shining face
I think of you and wonder why?
I might cry or smile,
but at the end of the day I am one day closer to you....

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Nicholas, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

My church, St. Dunstan's Episcopal, in Davison, Michigan, remembers and prays for our fallen heroes. We are having a Prayer Vigil on May 17, 2008 and will be lifting Nicholas's name in prayer. We will also be displaying his picture on our Memorial Wall along with the pictures of more than 4700 of his fallen comrades. We do not want the families of these men and women to think that we have forgotten them. Nicholas has made the ultimate sacrifice for others. God bless. It's always hard to speak when it's to a great young man who should have grown old. It's hard because you get caught up in what you think they'd be doing today, what they'd be doing years from now. It gets so hard that you don't want to say anything, because it seems like any words of kindness are falling on the wrong ears and not upon the ones you want. I will remember you as the Marine who died on a bad day while doing his job. You did the common when the uncommon was being waged and for that, I wish I could have shaken your hand. You take care of yourself up there and we'll be seeing you around, even if it takes us a while.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

March 1, 2007

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.
They are true Heroes and need to always be remembered for their selflessness and sacrifice to better our world. We will forever be united in the loss of our heros. We are so sorry for your loss and hope our words will ease some of the pain, and maybe fill some of your emptiness.
Yesterday, Today, Forever – Semper Fi - Marines!
Our sincerest gratitude for their bravery-

Our deepest sympathies to all of you. As the good Lord now holds him closer than we have ever known, may you find some comfort in the motto Nicholas lived by "Semper Fidelis". For those who are always faithfull, for those that put their trust in "him", he shall fold the arms of his love and protection around them. With Love and sorrow, John, Pat, Mike, and Melly Timmreck

There are no words of comfort that I can provide. Know in your heart that the Land of the Free is due to The Brave. Your son, brother, cousin gave the ultimate sacrifice and we are all indebted to his bravery. Although he is physically gone from your presence, he will live forever in your hearts. To Julie Pincumbe Timmerick, please feel my thoughts being sent your way. I am so very sorry for your loss of Nicholas.
