He managed Wolfe's ski rental and repair at Park City Mountain Resort. He served on the Park City Planning Commission, and wanted to "pull back the reins" on Park City's growth aspirations. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed Hunting, Flyfishing, Horseback Riding, and skiing.
Bill was preceded by his wife, parents, brothers Gerald and Blaine, and his sister Nancy. Survived by his sisters Carolyn Meyer, Shirley Collingwood, and son Brandon (Ileana) Bertagnole, and Ryan Bertagnole, and two grandchildren Angelo Bertagnole and Cyera Rainaldi. Bill moved to Park City from Salt Lake City in 1972. He was a longtime Park City Resident (Parkite), and had a lot of history going back multiple Generations. His mother Marguerite was born in Park City in 1906 and went to the Washington School, now a Historic Bed and Breakfast. His Grandfather Cornelius (Con) O'Neill was the Superintendent of the Silver King Coalition Mining Company in charge of operations and 2000 miners here in Park City. His father Angel negotiated a 100 year grazing lease on the Greater Park City Mining Company's property for $1 a year. He said "his father and grandfather would drive a truck around the mountains of Park City and throw wildflower seeds out the windows, and that's why there's so many wildflowers in the mountains of Utah". He was known to stretch a story now and then.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, Huntsman Cancer Institute, U of U health, Intermountain Hospital, Aspen Ridge Rehabilitation, and Spring Gardens assisted Living for all their help over last several years. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future, details to be shared by the family when they become available.
