William Bertagnole Obituary

William Thomas Bertagnole

1940 - 2025

Park City, Utah-William (Bill) Bertagnole, 84, passed away on September 17, 2025, to join his wife of 62 years, Juli Morrison Bertagnole. Bill was born November 2, 1940, to Marguerite and Angel Bertagnole the youngest son of six children.

Bill had multiple careers. He was a local rancher and outfitter. He owned and started Mountain Top Services, Park City's longest running snow removal company in town and still in operation. He managed Wolfe's ski rental and repair at Park City Mountain Resort. He served on the Park City Planning Commission, and wanted to "pull back the reins" on Park City's growth aspirations. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed Hunting, Flyfishing, Horseback Riding, and skiing.

Bill was preceded by his wife, parents, brothers Gerald and Blaine, and his sister Nancy. Survived by his sisters Carolyn Meyer, Shirley Collingwood, and son Brandon (Ileana) Bertagnole, and Ryan Bertagnole, and two grandchildren Angelo Bertagnole and Cyera Rainaldi. He was also a grandfather to Brandon and Ileana's two stepsons Edward and Richard with five great granddaughters Amelilah, Aliya, Aria, Eva, and Goldie. There are also multiple nieces and nephews, but he was almost a second father to Carolyn's children, Lisa, Kristi, and Eric.

Bill moved to Park City from Salt Lake City in 1972. He was a longtime Park City Resident (Parkite), and had a lot of history going back multiple Generations. His mother Marguerite was born in Park City in 1906 and went to the Washington School, now a Historic Bed and Breakfast. His Grandfather Cornelius (Con) O'Neill was the Superintendent of the Silver King Coalition Mining Company in charge of operations and 2000 miners here in Park City. His father Angel negotiated a 100 year grazing lease on the Greater Park City Mining Company's property for $1 a year. He said "his father and grandfather would drive a truck around the mountains of Park City and throw wildflower seeds out the windows, and that's why there's so many wildflowers in the mountains of Utah". He was known to stretch a story now and then.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, Huntsman Cancer Institute, U of U health, Intermountain Hospital, Aspen Ridge Rehabilitation, and Spring Gardens assisted Living for all their help over last several years. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future, details to be shared by the family when they become available.
