My heart is heavy knowing your loss. Shelia was a beautiful inside and out, her smile was always there,I loved getting to know her and your family. You are each a special person and I know you will slowly recover from this difficult loss. You are in my prayers, I am here if any of you need someone.

The service today was a beautiful celebration of Sheila's life and devotion to her family and friends. Her children will carry forward her legacy. They are very smart, talented and all around great kids. Doug and Sheila have raised them well. Doug, Landon and Sydney will be strong for each other. We love you all!

May God bless your family in your time of loss. Sheila was a wonderful person. Knowing her helped me to be a better person. Sheila will be missed but never forgotten.

Sheila Funk's Obituary

Sheila Funk Osborne, 46, of Galax passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, North Carolina. Sheila was born Thursday, September 22, 1966 in Grayson County, Virginia to William Harold Funk and Evelyn Sena Widner Funk. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her father–in-law: Charlie Junior Osborne.She is survived by her husband Douglas G. Osborne; daughter Sydney Evelyn Osborne, son Landon Grey Osborne all of the home; brothers & sisters-in-law: Brian and Alice Funk of Abingdon, Virginia; Dean and Susie Funk of Fries, Virginia; mother–in-law: Eula Faye Osborne of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law and husband: Sheila & Kenny Poston of Chilhowie, Virginia; brothers-in-law and wives: Don & Trish Osborne; Dwight and Carmen Osborne all of Galax, Virginia. Special friend Yulanda Carico and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be held in the Hillcrest Baptist Church, Friday December 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev. James Cowley and Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Fries, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the church. Flowers will be appreciated or contributions may be made to the Hillcrest Church Building Fund, 1205 S. Main Street, Galax, VA 24333
