Anne Mae 's Obituary

Anne Mae Samson, 96, died peacefully after a short illness, on May 13, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.Anne was born in Sydney, Oct. 5,1917, educated at Holy Angels Convent. She was the daughter of the late Helene-Marie (LeBlanc) and Walter Robert Kiley.She was a longtime resident of Grand Lake Road and recently resided at Williston House in Sydney.She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Samson in 1980, sisters, Mary Agnes Samson, Alice Dora Marchand, and a brother, William Austin.Anne is survived by her seven children, Gloria (Bob) Johnson, Trenton, Ont., Gregory (Lorna), Moncton, N.B., Reginald (Shirley), Sydney, Sheila (Larry) Martin, Kaleden, B.C., Bernarde (Deanne LaVallee) St. John's, N.L., Virginia (Dan Smith) Mississauga, Ont., Nancy (Paul) Kowalczyk, Sydney. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian (Jane Ann), Todd (Sarah), Andrea (Dave), Craig, Gavin, Spenser, Danny, Ashley, Tracey (Michael), Shaye-Lynn; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Grace, Sophie, Alexis, Zachery, Caitlyn, Aydan, Keely and Aspen, as well as nieces and nephews throughout Canada.Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2-4 and 7-9 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow after service.
