Joseph Yotch, 91, of New Haven, formerly of First St., Hamden, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at his home. He was born in Johnstown, PA on January 1, 1926 to the late Barney and Rosie Brutaz Yotch. He worked for S.Z. Field Company as a Graphic Printer for 15 years until retiring in 1970. He is a proud veteran of the United States Marines, serving his country during WWII. Joe was an avid baseball man, an avid Red Sox Fan, as well as a New York Giants Football Fan. He was an Assistant Baseball Coach for both the Quinnipiac College and the Housatonic Community College Baseball Teams and was also a Player, Coach and served on several positions within the board of the Twilight League in West Haven.
He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Yotch of West Haven, Gayle Yotch (Peter Labrecque) of Reading, MA and Nanci Aponte of Northford, a sister, Julia (Angelo) Prece of Hamden and two grandchildren, Cameron Yotch and Kaeleigh Austen. He is also survived by his former wife, Elaine Latini of Northford. He was predeceased by a two brothers, Barney and Michael Yotch and a sister, Estelle Yotch.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton, CT. We ask those wishing to attend meet directly at the Church. Burial immediately following in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. The East Haven Memorial Longobardi-Brennan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Please visit easthavenmemorial.com and sign his guest book.
