Mama and I say all the time "Wow what would Cousin Ev have to say about this or that?"!! Our Browns still stink, our Indians missed the playoffs, the Cavs will never be good again, the weather is as crazy as ever, and John the owner of our favorite Chinese place has joined the Angels with you. Evelyn "Evie" Johnson (née Haladey), 88, of Lorain, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 following a brief illness.She was born in Lorain on January 26, 1929. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1947. She was a lifelong resident of Lorain.Evie was a loving mother, homemaker. She worked at Drs. Russell, Berkebile and Associates from 1972 - 1985. She was a member St. Mary's Parish, Lorain.She enjoyed reading the morning newspaper, watching game shows, sports and her favorite soap opera Days of Our Lives. She also loved talking on the phone to her family and friends.Evie will be missed by her sons, Gerald (Debbie) Johnson of Las Vegas, David (Rick) Johnson of Willoughby Hills and cousin, Judy Starcovic of Lorain.She was preceded in death by her parents Frank J. Haladey and Julia (née Furdyn) Haladey.A mass in celebration of her memory will be Monday, January 29th at 7 PM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 W 7th St, Lorain, OH 44052, (8th Street and Reid Avenue). She was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.Memorial contributions may be made to Avon Oaks Resident Activity Fund, 37800 French Creek Road, Avon, Ohio 44011 or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
