I knew Mr Seymour from my job at the bank - he was my regular for the 4 years and I always took incredible joy in bantering with him. One day, in 2021, he came through the drive thru and told me that he wouldn’t see me again. But he thanked me for my kindness and for taking care of him. I stared at him through the window and we said our goodbyes. I wish I had asked him to pull into the parking lot so I could give him a hug. He was a good man and I miss his energy and good humor.

I had Mr. Seymour as a teacher in the sixth grade at Glen Ridge middle school. He was inspiring in that he gave us the sense that we could question adults (and teachers) - that it *was* allowed because not everyone is right all the time. For a little while I even wanted to be an English teacher. This morning I woke up thinking about the exercise he gave us about writing a report on how to make a peanut butter sandwich.
