Samuel “Sam” T. Schuneman, age 24, formerly of Maple Grove, passed away July 24 as the result of an automobile accident. Sam is survived by loving parents Tom and Yvonne Schuneman; siblings  Maggie, Luke, Beth (Lambert), and brother-in-law Dylan, grandmother Rosemary Leger and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Sam was a proud business graduate of the University of St. Thomas in 2019 and had started his career working in sales in Phoenix, Arizona.

Sam was a gift to all that knew him. His signature smile and perpetual positivity were contagious. Sam had an incredible ability to light up a room and make everyone feel appreciated. His adventurous spirits led him to a wide variety of hobbies and interests such as sports, lakes, concerts, traveling, hiking, volunteering and much more. Through these activities Sam amassed a large group of friends, whom he loved dearly. Above all, Sam was grounded in tremendous faith and understood the importance of having God at the center of his life. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

My heart goes out to your family for the loss of your son, Sam. We do not know each other, but we lost our 24 year old son, Tom, in June to an accident as well. This is no journey that a parent or siblings should have to go through. We are new on this horrible path of grief as well, but wanted to reach out to send our condolences. If you would ever want to talk, feel free to message me on Facebook.

Words cannot express my sorrow for your family. I was fortunate to meet and employ Sam during his mid teenage years at the Medina Golf and CC. He was by far an inspiration to all young employees that I employed during my time at the club. I watched him mature and develop great work ethics during this time and become a great young man. My condolences go out to all of you. He will be in my prayers always. Bless you Schuneman family through this tragic time.

I want to send my deepest sympathy . I have never met Sam because whenever my husband and I were visiting our son Logan Saltou he was back home visiting his family but we have heard so many great things about Sam from our son. Logan loved having Sam as a roommate and friend. They became great friends and we thank him for being there for our son when they both moved out to Arizona. Logan will truly miss him and cherish there friendship.❤

I never met Sam. I only learned about him in his afterlife. I don't usually spend time learning about someone, but there was an energy about him that was contagious. In his too short time here, he did more in 24 years than most people do in a lifetime. His persona, kindness, inclusion, humor, love of people and life. Making everyday count for something. Those with that were lucky enough to know him will carry his Legacy for him; that I know for certain. What a beautiful boy he was. I am so sorry for your horrific loss. I wish you peace in time. I am so sorry.
