My sincere condolences on your loss, he was my baseball coach at Whetstone High School 1977-1979. He provided me great advice and counsel while going through a tough time in high school, and enjoyed reaching out to him well afterwards.
Regards,

I just heard about Coach’s passing yesterday from Bill Pfeill. I am so sad to hear of Fred’s passing and my prayers go out to his family. I was fortunate to have known and played for Coach from 1970-1972 at Whetstone. He was the kind of man who brought out the best in everyone around him. I still to this day think about him and all that I learned from him. I will miss him very much. He was a coach, a teacher and most of all a true friend

You come across a limited amount of people in your life that help shape your own and are unforgettable. Mr. Nocera ( I still can’t call him Fred) was one of those people. Only so many can claim legendary status, and he was certainly one who was bigger than life. Rest In Peace after a life well lived.

Condolences to Doris and family on hearing the sad news of coach Nocera's passing. Having played for Fred and being a student in his phys. ed and health classes at Mifflin, I always enjoyed the many discussions with him about sports and life. In later years when seeing him at Rofini's pizza in Westerville he would always recall the years of coaching his Mifflin teams. RIP Fred your life has been well lived.

My condolences to Coach Nocera's family and friends. While I never had the privilege of playing for Coach Nocera, I frequently competed against him and his Whetstone teams while playing baseball for Columbus West from 1973-75. We had frequent and memorable battles, and our rivalry was full of mutual respect. Fred was great coach and gentleman. He'll be missed.

I played for Coach in 64 65 66 at Mifflin. He made us winners on and off the field. I joined the military right after graduation .I often have joked after going through his program Boot camp was easy.
God bless you coach.
