1934 ~ 2014
James T. Glancey, age 80, passed away Wed., October 29, 2014. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the 7th of 9 children of John and Catherine Hannigan Glancey. He graduated in 1952 from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, the oldest Catholic high school in the US. In 1954 he married Rita Harkins and they lived in Philadelphia where their five children were born. Jim was an active reservist in the U.S. Navy, earned his Business Degree from LaSalle College and worked his way up from shipping clerk to purchasing agent for Vick's Chemical Company in Philadelphia.
Jim left Vick's to join General Electric's space program and experimental manufactured housing program. In 1971 GE moved the family to
Apple Valley California. In 1974 the family moved to Idaho, where Jim managed the K& B mobile home plant in Boise.
In the early 1980's Jim partnered to form Ethanol Marketing LLC in Boise, promoting the use of a US home-grown fuel. He was a strong advocate in the industry and was instrumental in founding the Washington DC based, Clean Fuels Development Coalition (CFDC) and Wyoming Ethanol/Renova Energy, where he worked until his retirement in 2009.
Over the years, Jim coached his children's soccer teams, led a 4-H Business Club, was a K of C member at OLR and volunteered for "The Jesse Tree." After the loss of their middle child, Terry, in 1979, he and Rita became founding members of the local chapter of The Compassionate Friends and Touchstone Center for Grieving Children.
Jim is survived by children: James (Tina); Timothy (Donna) of Key West; Helene Minor (Mike); Neil and former wife Rita. Grandchildren: Christopher (Stephanie); David (Jyl); Nick Minor; Josh Minor; Hunter and Piper and great-grandchildren; Sophia, Finnegan and Nora.
The family is thankful for the devoted care of Plantation Assisted Living and XL Hospice. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life at an 11a.m. Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Boise. Donations may be made to Roman Catholic HS, N. On behalf of the Jesse Tree of Idaho words cannot describe the endearing love and support Jim had for our mission of "Spreading the message of God's mercy and love to those in need through prayer, word and deed." Jim was such an inspiration to me as a new Board Member, his infectious laugh, huge heart and warm smile were a sweet treat each and every time we got together for Board Meetings. He was our rock, always positive things will work out no matter what adversity the Board was facing. I will miss him dearly, a good business partner, but most importantly a great friend. His spirit will move to the highest level so he can watch over and guide us as we venture forward in our journey. We are blessed by the thoughtfulness of the family in naming the Jesse Tree as a recipient of memorials made in his name and as the Board Chairman I will ensure the contributions will be administered just as Jim would have liked them to be. My very best wishes and thoughts to Jim's family.

Sincerely, Linda Armstrong, Chairman of the Board, The Jesse Tree of Idaho.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope.Jim was a great comfort to me when I lost my son in 1996. He shared these words of wisdom with me "The things that make you cry the hardest now will someday be the memories that you will laugh about later and give you comfort." He was so right!! Remembering you and your loved one today and always.
