Phenix City, Alabama- George Samuel Dimon, Jr, 73 of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday, December 14, 2015 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dewayne Dean officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.
Mr. Dimon was born November 26, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia to the late George Samuel Dimon, Sr. and Mamie Crane Dimon.
He was a master electrician and worked many years at Cobb Hospital in Phenix City, then transferred and retired from the Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia in 2008. He was a hard worker and never gave up. He enjoyed making others happy; but never wanted to ask for help, loved going to church, studying his Bible and taking care of his family. He attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Margaret Carolyn Dimon, two daughters, Melanie Dimon of Phenix City and Michelle Dimon of Columbus, Georgia, and numerous other friends and family.

George had a good heart. He always tried to find something to be positive about. I will miss him asking me if I wanted to speak to the General when I called. May God help you find peace through the memories of happy times.
