Charles R. Dimon

Charles R. Dimon, age 88, longtime resident of Maple View, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. Charles was born January 24, 1938, in Colosse, the son of Tracy and Mary Vallace Dimon. He attended Mexico High School and served in the United States Army. Charles was married to his wife of 66-years, Jane Ransom Dimon, on October 10, 1959. He owned and operated Ontario Tire Company for over 40-years, retiring in 2005. In his retirement he worked part-time for FX Caprara and later Bob Johnson Auto Group. Charles was a member of the Lacona Cable Trail VFW Post #8534 and the Cicero American Legion Post #787.

Throughout his life, Charles was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother and friend to many in our community. Outside of work, Charles was busy golfing, beekeeping, and traveled extensively. Family trips were common and included almost all of the United States, Spain, France, Germany, Canada and China. He was a fan of Syracuse University athletics and an extremely loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills.

Charles is survived by his wife Jane Dimon of Maple View and son Lansing Dimon of Syracuse, sister, Barbara Horning of Fulton and many nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his brothers, Tracy, John, William, Don, and Herbert and sister, Lucille.

Funeral Services will be held 7pm, Tuesday, March 3rd, at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a spring burial in Maple View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
