Jacob Highland Obituary

Jacob A. Highland Age 83, passed away after a brief illness at home. Born in Honolulu, HI, a pioneer in the sport of volleyball, 1964 Olympian (volleyball), a USAF veteran, and dedicated fire fighter. Jake was loved by all who knew him, most especially by his wife, Florence (deceased), five children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, dear friends and colleagues. A Celebration of Life will be held after the New Year. Additional details to be announced. Interment services to be held at Hawaiian Memorial Park, Kaneohe, HI later next year. A hui hou kakou, until we meet again.

Dear Highland family,My parents Dom and Betty dearly loved Jake!My father would talk most gleefully about Jake's trips around the world playing volleyball.As a child he seemed larger than life with that great smile!The fire dept. was always filled with laughter when i visit my father at the station.Sincerely,Tom Basile

Condolences to the Highland family. My wife and I are really going to miss Jake. He was such a stand up man. It was such a pleasure, a true pleasure, knowing Jake and Flo. May these two dear souls rest in peace.
