Ryan Pollard
November 5, 2014
My name is Ryan Pollard and I go to Winfield City High School in Winfield, Alabama. I am in the 12th grade. I enjoy playing basketball, baseball, and football for my high school. I have a loving and caring family that sticks with me through the thick and the thin. Me and my family are free and can play sports and watch TV and go to church because of your son sacrificing. I did not know Ryan but we have the same first name so I thought that was pretty cool. I know he was a strong, brave, and couragious man for doing what he did for our country. I just wanted to say thank you. I am sorry for the loss of your son, I know that has to be one of the most heartbreaking things...but i do know God has a plan for us all! Keep praying and stay strong! If you would like to write back you can contact my teacher at the following e-mail address: [email protected]

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Hall Family know that we recently made a small donation to Lutheran World Relief in honor of Ryan P. Hall US Army Captain. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Dear Dennis and Kliffa,
We were very saddened with the news of Ryans passing and know that with the loss of a son, no words can express our feelings. We knew Ryan as a great kid growing up with our son Chad. He always brought laughter into our home and was a true friend to our son.
Weather it was playing basketball, skiing or just hanging out, Ryan was truly a great young man. After reading all of Ryans accomplishments, it is obvious he was a great man and leader. Our family is very proud to have known Ryan. Our prayers and thoughts will always be with his family.

Dear Kliffa and Denny and Family,
Our hearts and thoughts have been with you since we heard of Ryan's death. We remember Ryan from his birth through high school from our time at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. I remember when our son Joshua was born in 1981, Brandon proudly told me that he was going to have a new baby brother or sister soon, too; that was Ryan. When I was Ryan's mentor for confirmation at POP, I enjoyed our time on service projects and discussions on World Hunger with Ove. We pray that your good memories help carry you through this difficult time.

My heart breaks. Ryan went to Pine Creek High School with Kristopher Miller my son, and they graduated together in 2000. I am retired USAF with 15 years service at the USAF Academy. The loss of this fine young man is so difficult. No words of mine will supply the comfort and the strength which these days require. However, I could not let the day pass without letting you know how very deeply I am feeling the effects of this crushing news. May G-d bless you through these most difficult times. - Ken Miller

I was at Ryan's arrival ceremony at Peterson Air force Base and it brought me to tears. All the military force lined up and saluted him as he passed, it was so incredible. I am so sorry for your loss, I did not know Ryan but I am sure he was a wonderful young man, who gave his life for his country.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hall,
Words cannot express our sentiments or begin to understand your grief. Ryan was an attendant at my daughter and son-in-law's wedding. We had met him on several occasions before and as has been said in his obituary, he loved life! It was so obvious! He always had a smile on his face and something funny to say. I, as the wife of a veteran and the mother of a man that is meeting the challenge of protecting his country cannot fathom your grief but my husband and I were grief-striken when our son in law, Capt. Will Gery and daughter Christine heard the news. Please know that our most sincere sympathy and prayers go out to your family. What a wonderful man!!!!!!!! I want to thank you for this wonderful young man and the pleasure that we had each time we saw Ryan. You must be an incredible family to have raised such a fine young man. God be with you and your family.
In Christian Love,
Linda and Steve Darby

Ryan was a man everyone in the squadron looked up to not just because he was a fantastic pilot because he was a friend to everyone. In the year and a half and three deployments I spent with him I learned more from his leadership than I could ever express. Dennis and Kliffa, you raised an amazing man and I was proud to have him as a wingman, mentor, and a friend. His memory will never fade.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Ryan will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.
