MACAULAY, A. Evelyn (nee Soy) Born July 31, 1904 in Charlottetown, P.E.I., passed away peacefully, February 9, 2004 in Ottawa, Ontario. Evelyn was brought up in Nova Scotia and educated at Mount Allison. She married Adrian A. Macaulay of Sydney. Evelyn and Adrian lived in Toronto, Quebec City and Montreal. They retired to Pictou, Nova Scotia, where Adrian tended his magnificent garden and Evelyn continued her musical interests by playing the organ in church and teaching piano. Predeceased by sons Richard and David. Survived by daughters Laura Macaulay (Ottawa) and Sharon Samaroo (Vancouver); grandchildren Craig Leth-Steensen (Guylaine) of Ottawa and Wendy Leth-Steensen of Dallas, Texas; Rebecca MacKay Eastwood (Michael) of London, UK; Richard Samaroo (Laura) and Norman Samaroo of Vancouver; Glen Macaulay and daughter-in-law Joan Macaulay of Florida. Evelyn had four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Max and Jaime. Private family burial. Memorial Mass will be held at the end of July in Ottawa with a reception to follow afterwards. All family and friends are invited. Please RSVP Laura Macaulay. In memory of Evelyn, donations will be gratefully accepted for the social fund of Laurier Manor Nursing home, 1715 Montreal Road, Ottawa, Ontario K1J 6N4. The family would like to commend the Home for the loving care and attention given to Evelyn by each and every staff member. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, Ottawa.
