I met Scott when I moved to CDA in 1988 to work as public affairs officer for the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. It was suggested that I join the Kootenai Environmental Alliance which often did not cotton to Forest Service management. Over the next 4 years, working with KEA folks such as Art Manley and Scott, I learned a lot about relationship building among people whose values and opinions may be different, but often could find common ground for resolutions. I moved to Washington DC, and then back to the PNW as a legislative liaison staff for the Forest Service. Along the way, I relied upon Scott's good counsel and advice. A wonderful person and excellent strategic thinker! He with Mary Lou leave a great legacy in Idaho and beyond!
