Gloria Stone

Gloria Rose Stone, 91 of Vista, NY, passed away in Florida on June 6, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Roger J. “Chubby” Stone, Sr. Mrs. Stone was born Gloria Rose Corbo in Norwalk, CT on September 20, 1924. Her parents were the late Grace (Mezzo) (Corbo) Anderson and the late Arvid Anderson. Gloria was a resident of Vista, NY for the past 64 years. Mrs. Stone was one of the longest standing members of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Vista (NY) Fire Department. She was also a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and a past president of the Meadow Pond Elementary School PTA. Mrs. Stone also was a reporter for the local newspaper and a member of the Lewisboro Senior Citizens. Mrs. Stone is survived by her children: Roger J. Stone and his wife, Nydia of Florida; Lisa Nicholson and her husband, Perry of West Virginia and Wendy Cox and her husband, Robert of South Salem as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stone was predeceased by three brothers; Robert, Leroy and Thomas Corbo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:15 AM at St. Mary Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield. Friends will be received on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
