Beloved Husband and Brother
ILION - Gary J. Fauvelle, age 76, of Prospect Ave., Ilion, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford.
He was born on June 3, 1944, in Herkimer, the son of Alcid and Dorothy (Godfrey) Fauvelle. Gary attended Annunciation School and Ilion High School. On November 27, 1985, he was married to Sandra "Sandy" Forbes in Mohawk. Mr. Fauvelle was employed at the Union Fork & Hoe Co., Frankfort. He also worked as a machine operator and sub-assembler at Remington Arms Co., Ilion, for many years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers.
Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving family members include his loving wife, Sandra; his sister, Sandra "Sandy" Engelbrecht and her husband, Richard, of Ilion; his brother-in-law, Robert Hart, of Herkimer; his sister-in-law, Carol Matthie, of Mohawk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Richard Fauvelle; and his sister, Linda Hart.
Gary's Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Church of the Annunciation, West St., Ilion, with Father Paul Catena, Pastor, officiating. If you are planning on attending the Memorial Mass, please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Thank you for your understanding.
