David Ralph Decker

David Ralph Decker, 75, of Galion, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 at Galion Community Hospital after an extended illness. Born Apr. 26, 1934 in Galion he was the son of the late Ralph R. Decker and Dorothy (Auld) Decker. He married Phyllis (Eusey) Decker on Dec. 21, 1956 and she survives. Dave was a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson where he sang in the church choir for over 45 years. He retired in 1989 from the former ITT/North Electric in Galion where he worked in Material Control. In addition to his wife surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dave and Beth Ann Decker and Steve Decker, all of Galion; one grandson, Greg Decker of Galion; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor and Gene Cook of Mansfield and Virginia and John Boggs of Ashland; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Mike Decker of Bucyrus and Jim and Pat Decker of Ada, Mich. and numerous nieces and nephews that were very special to him. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Decker and one sister, Barbara Ritchey. Memorial Services will be held for family and friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson with Pastor Wilmer Hallman officiating.
