Robert F. Brunner of Moorpark, CA, born January 9, 1938 in Pasadena, Calif., passed away on January 5, 2009, of natural causes.
Bob grew up in Brentwood, Calif., when it was still a very small neighborhood. He graduated from University High School and attended UCLA for one year. At a very young age, Bob showed great musical talent and started taking piano lessons. At the age of 11, he organized his own 20 piece dance band and performed at many proms, dances, benefits and other functions throughout Los Angeles. In high school, he composed and arranged all the music for an original musical called “Gone Greek,” the first “High School Musical.” He also spent a summer composing the music and managing the sound recording for an original movie that he and his friends produced for fun. Bob got into the entertainment business singing and dancing on the “Dinah Shore Show,” “The Judy Garland Show” and other TV specials before he became a staff composer at Disney Studios. He wrote scores for many movies and television shows for Walt Disney.
Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bob held positions as Musical Director for several wards, and sat on the High Council as well as serving as a Seminary Instructor for high school sophomores.
There was nothing Bob enjoyed more than playing the piano with family and friends. He loved to ski and many years he went to Park City for a month to enjoy the snow. A devoted husband and father, he passed on his love of music to his children, Robert Elliott and Tiffany Anne. They loved to hear their father play and danced to his music.
Bob is survived by is wife, Diana Brunner, his two children, sister Joy Brunner Frye and her husband, Fred Frye, niece Barbara Singleterry, nephews, Fred Frye Jr., Chris Frye and Robert Frye along with many other cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested for a trust for the children.

To The Brunner family,
My heart goes out to each and every one of you regarding your loving father, uncle, cousin, etc...Bob Brunner....
He was a special man I know, although I never met him. I did speak with him on the phone at
the studio a few times, and he was delightful....

Dear Bob -
My memories of you go way back to the time when we were both good friends at Uni Hi. I was a tap dancer, and you led your band and sang wonderful songs at many of the assemblies we both attended. You were so kind, so handsome and so very talented. You were in the eleventh grade when I was in the twelfth.
I have thought about you so very often, especially after I retired and moved back to Los Angeles. You will always live on in my fondest memories.

A gem of a human being and first cousin, whose life we celebrate! Bob will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He left a rich legacy to his children in so many ways. Bob's love of life and musical gifts were the essence of his soul and spirit. Sharing his God-given talents with such joy always blessed and enriched others. He will be missed, but treasured in our memories. May God continue to comfort and bless his family.
Lovingly in Christ,
