Geraldine Ferk

Vesper - Geraldine M. (Marx) Ferk, age 94, of Vesper, passed away on February 17, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Geraldine was born August 16, 1926 in Vesper, WI the 5th of seven children born to Edwin and Catherine (Ruesch) Marx. She graduated from Pittsville High School as a member of the class of 1944. Geraldine married David Ferk, on September 3, 1945 and was married for 45 years until his death May 11, 1991.

She is survived by her sons and daughters: David Ferk, Stephen (Bonnie) Ferk, Kristin (Joseph) Dragan, James (Cathy Jones) Ferk, Coralee Ott, Jerome (fiancée Lori Stensberg) Ferk, Aaron (Misty) Ferk, Thomas (Nicole Rucinski-Rickaby) Ferk, and Rachel (Dave) Gause; son-in-law Dennis McGurk; and daughter-in-law Linda (VandenBerg) Ferk; 24 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Catherine Marx; husband David; daughter Kathryn McGurk; and sons Nicholas Ferk and Andrew Ferk.

Geraldine's greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her nurturing spirit was felt by all but especially embodied by her connection with her grand and great-grandchildren. She loved and was loved and will be deeply missed.

Our family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Natividad, Hospitalist, the nurses and staff on the medical surgical unit for their compassionate care at Aspirus Hospital.

Private family services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Altdorf. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.
