Our condolences to Gail and the rest of the Mara family. It was certainly a pleasure knowing Dick through our affiliation with the USS Ticonderoga Veterans Association. Dick was always someone to look up to when it came time to speak of the Navy. He will be sorely missed by all of his shipmates.

Mara Family,
As we're driving home we can't help but reflect on memories of growing up and wonderful times we've had with your family. Today's service was beautiful and were both honored to have been a part of it. Shawn and I both thank you all for loving us and letting us be a part of your family. You'll never know just how much it means to us. We're here for you always and just a phone call away. Richard has made a huge impact on both of our lives and we're grateful for every moment we had to spend with him. May God bless your days ahead full of peace. Mr. Mara would of wanted that. He's home and we'll join him again in Gods time. Know we love you and will be in touch very soon. All our love, Mike and Shawn.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Dick's family. It been a struggle for the past few years, but with family coming together, as you have, I'm he appreciated your efforts to give him comfort and love. His memory will be with you long after the pain has recessed, so you can still enjoy your life with him.
We talked to him occassionally outside in his yard and thought of him as a nice neighbor and good guy.
May he find peace and comfort in his new home. May you the family find consolation knowing his suffering is over.
May God Almighty bless you and give you tranquillity.

My condolences go out to Mr. Mara's family. I enjoyed conversations that we had while visiting him at home. I was very blessed to have them both him and his wife as my neighbors. He will be missed but not forgotten especially when my kids would refer to him as the neighbor with the 2 SpudMckenzie dogs. Richard you are in a better place with no suffering. God Bless your family and that God give them peace in their hearts.
