Grace McLendon Obituary
A native of Charlotte, Mrs. McLendon was born to the late Fantom Edward Moore and Dezzie Polk Moore on February 12, 1921. She retired from Mitchem & Tucker after 40 years of service. Mrs. McLendon was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, The American Legion Auxiliary and was a former member of The Golden Years Club and Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lacy C. McLendon.
Mrs. McLendon is survived by her daughter, Linda Gordon Carpenter and husband Burl of Charlotte and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 4305 Monroe Rd., Charlotte. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 4305 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28205 or to Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care, 324 N. McDowell St., Charlotte, NC 28207.

Grace was my neighbor a mother to me known her since I was 3 years old. I spent most all my time at her house she taught me so much I loved her and Mack and Granny so much I know she is joined now with Mack. Grace will always hold a place in my heart. Love Vicky John Olivia Joshua Williams

Grace was our neighbor when I was a young girl and so very pretty and sweet. Her brother Bobby saved me from drowning at the beach.
