S. Scott Crane II

Scott Crane, age 72, a resident of Trego, died on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Spooner Health System.

Sherman Scott Crane II was born in Stillwater, Minnesota on December 14, 1940 to Sherman and Nina Crane. Raised in Stillwater, Scott is remembered as an accomplished athlete and fun-loving individual by classmates in his hometown. He graduated from UW-River Falls in 1965 and taught high school English in Turtle Lake, WI, Stillwater, MN, and Oakdale, MN. An avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, Scott moved to Trego, Wisconsin in 1973 to own and operate the Trego Night Club. Scott managed the bar and restaurant at the Spooner Golf Club from 1988 until his retirement in 2003. It was at the Spooner Golf Club that Scott added three hole-in-ones to his golfing achievements.

Scott is survived by his wife Marcia (Marcy), children; Chris (Jim) Otto of Stillwater, MN, Stephanie Bird (Paul Nord) of Stillwater, MN, Bert (Deb) Crane of Ada, MI, Terri (Steven) Cureton of Rochester, MN, Vicki (Cory) Johnson of Rochester, MN, 11 grandchildren, brother John (Gerri) Crane of New Brighton, MN, sister Barbara (Byron) Roszell of Willmar, MN, Aunt Ruth "Toots" Dueholm of Luck, WI, and several nieces and nephews.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Tracks Restaurant in Spooner at 1:00 PM.
