Dovie Rice Obituary
She was born April 18, 1926 in Edmonton, Kentucky to Joseph and Dora (Page) Smith. On December 1, 1945 she married Rufus C. Rice.
Dovie was a phenomenal cook and loved to quilt, garden, and put together puzzles.
Survivors include her children: Jeanette Nord of Bloomington, Barry (Janet Sloan) Rice of Peoria, Charles (Diane) Rice of Congerville and Joyce Jensen of Wenona; 8 grandchildren: 11 great-granchildren; sister: Agnes (George) Smith of Indianapolis, IN; brother: Glenn Smith of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one granddaughter; and 17 siblings.
Visitation will be from 10am until 12pm then followed by the Funeral Service Saturday February 22, 2014 at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd. Bloomington, IL 61704. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, IL. The Rev. Ronald Thacker will officiate.
Memorials can be made to Danvers Baptist Church 104 W Columbia St, Danvers, IL 61732 or Advocate Hospice, 1304 Franklin Ave, Normal, IL 61761.

My Dear Friend Jolene, my thoughts & prayers are with you and your family. I know all the loving and fun times shared with your grandma will be running thru your mind ofen as you go thru this time of loss, but those same memories will also bring you comfort and a BIG SMILE to your face.
