Our family had a great experience with Perrymans. The attentiveness and respect that was shown to our mother was greatly appreciated. Even before she passed, they worked with us to get certain affairs in order. They even followed up once everything was over! My only suggestion would be updates and renovations to the facility itself so that it would reflect the distinguished quality of services offered. Angela Wilson

My experience with Perryman's Mortuary was so easy, so warming and very professional. When I say they have a special touch, that's exactly what I mean. They kept the integrity of my mother and cared for our family in a way I will never forget. Special Thanks to you Theresia Smith!

The Perrymans Mortuary is and was a blessing to my family. We were out of state and they walked us through every step for our father’s military service. If you are looking for compassion and patience people the Perrymans Mortuary is a great place for you and your loved ones to be taking care of! They will walk you through every detail, they are available to you 24 hours with any questions you may have. We were out of state exactly 4 hours behind Kentucky but they worked with my family regardless of the time difference. The military made an mistake on our father’s headstone and when I called them not knowing what to do they were there to assist if we could not get it corrected but everything worked out for us. So with all of this being said chose Perrymans Mortuary you will be glad completely satisfied..

My sister was a ward of the state. Her state guardian set up a funeral and burial fund years ago. Perryman's was the place she choose ( she said since she was from the west end, she would send all her clients here for a funeral). My sister's funeral was yesterday and it was the worst funeral I've ever been too or had to arrange. My sister passed on Sunday December 6,2020. I went to the funeral home on that Tuesday and took her outfit, a headband, bracelet, pictures, and music. Mind you this is my first time ever going to this establishment. Walking in, it was a mess. paperwork everywhere of several deceased clients laying around. You could barely understand what the man was saying, and from the looks of it, to me, he had suffered a stroke in the past. He took my daughter and I downstairs and showed us the caskets. He asked me how pink and white sounded for the colors. Which i told him that would be great cause she loved the color pink. The casket he showed me that I liked had MOTHER stitched on the inside lid of the casket. Which I told him she is not a mother, my sister was handicapped never had children of her own. HE told me i could put whatever i want there, so i told him sugar pie, since that's what her nickname was. I picked out her vault, handed over the pictures and music which was all on a memory card. He told me he didn't know how to do the memory card, but would figure it out. signed the paperwork and gave him a pic for her obituary and what to put in it. Fast forward to Thursday, still no obituary and her services are on Friday!! I called him Thursday morning and he told me it should of been out and for me to let him check and he would call me back. He called back at 4:30 that afternoon to let me know he was almost finished with it and to verify that i wanted it to say sugar pie on the casket. I did not like how all this was going so i told him i would be at the funeral home a hour early. Friday morning still no obituary. My father, myself and my daughter get there at the funeral home at 8 am like i told the funeral director. He makes us wait for 15 minutes inside his little office while he does his finishing touches... we finally are able to go in to see her. I'm looking at her and notice that there was a flower arrangement with a ribbon that said sugar pie on the inside lid of the casket...It was covering up the MOTHER that I specifically told him that she was not!!!!! Then I look at her arms because my daughter had brought up a butterfly bracelet of hers so my sister can wear it and it wasn't on her but the hospital band was still on her arm!!! I had to cut it off!!! Then the funeral director told me that he put the bracelet inside the coffin with her, but not on her!! Also on the memorial they misspelled her middle name and her mother's last name!! Him and his 3 man crew he had come asked everyone to step out of the parlor for a minute. They ended up removing the stitched MOTHER off the inside lid of the casket, by cutting it out, cause they knew i was upset. Then the service was rushed!!! One of the guys started stacking up chairs during the last prayer!!! Once at the burial site, it was rushed also. The funeral director kept asking if everything was alright cause they were ready to leave!!! Horrible experience. The establishment looks like it hasn't changed since he opened it back in the 80's. Old and creepy and not updated what so ever. Today, the day after my sister's funeral her obituary finally comes out!!!!! And guess what, they misspell her name again (differently than on the memorial), and they have the date of death wrong on it!! But then it don't say anything else on her obituary, like who she was survived by!! I wouldn't even rate this place one star (but google says i have too) nor would i have my worse enemy have this kind of treatment!!! Don't get me wrong, the funeral director was a nice man never mean or anything, but I believe he is too old to still be in business. He should of retired a long time ago!!!
