Description

Branch Funeral Home - Commack

The Vigliante Family has been serving families in their time of need since 1900. Branch Funeral Homes, like the Vigliante family, has served our communities since 1900. It is known that the Vigliante’s calling is serving others. Branch Funeral Homes’ Co-Owners, brothers, John, CFSP and Paul, CFSP are the latest generation to serve Smithtown and Miller Place as 4th Generation Funeral Directors; their father before them, Henry Vigliante has served as a 3rd Generation Funeral Director for over 50 years. Henry has served in all facets of the funeral business before purchasing Branch Funeral Homes in 1974 to preserve the integrity and trust of a family run funeral home and business. During Henry’s time on long island, he has enjoyed living in the St. James community where he, along with his wife, Loretta raised their six children Craig, Mark, John, Thomas, Paul and Lauren. Henry’s third son, John Vigliante, CFSP and Co-Owner graduated from Nassau County Community College School of Funeral Directing and then received his bachelor’s degree from Dowling College School of Business in 1998. Five year’s earlier in 1992, John pursued his calling of helping others at the age of 15 when he began to help is father at the funeral home and continues to do so today. Currently residing in Smithtown with his wife, Kim and children, Thomas, Justin and Hannah, John is also on the foundation and advisory board for St. Catherine’s Hospital in Smithtown, serves on the Smithtown Chamber of Commerce and belongs to the Smithtown Rotary. Paul Vigliante, CFSP and Co-Owner like his father and brother, also felt a calling to serve and help others; joining the funeral home age the age of 15 in 1999. After graduating from Hofstra University School of Business class of 2006 and graduating from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City. Paul, through his charismatic, professional and compassionate personality, the former Smithtown Fire Department Firefighter is able to provide specialized care and guidance to families in our community throughout some of the hardest moments in life. Paul is also the President of the Port Jefferson Rotary and resides in Stony Brook with his wife, Jackie and daughter, Aria. With over 120 years of funeral services experience and the dedication to serving others, the Vigliante family continue to provide modern and unique life celebrations or memorials to the families in our community. One aspect which makes Branch the best choice for families is their on-staff comfort companion and certified grief therapy dog, Hudson. Being a hypoallergenic 5th generation Australian Labradoodle, Hudson is here to comfort all who needed his care and affection. Being certified and fully trained Grief Therapy Dog, Hudson’s job is to provide comfort and love to families during visitations and services as well as helping during counseling sessions. Hudson also visits local nursing homes, hospices, and schools in the Smithtown and Miller Place areas of Long Island. Research has shown that the power of touch and the animal-human bond has been proven repeatedly to have a therapeutic effect for both humans and animals. Numerous studies have found supportive evidence for positive mental and physical health benefits from being near animals and touching them. This interaction causes positive endorphins to be released throughout the human body. Hudson uses his healing ability to assist our families and loved ones during some of life’s hardest moments. Whether it be a classic funeral services, a custom tailored life celebration in one of their two modern and convenient locations, a final ride in their signature Harley Hearse or Funeral Coach, or a fully catered memorial gathering in one of their on-site reception centers, Branch Funeral Homes’ goal is to honor your loved one and family during life’s toughest moments.
