I had an excellent experience with J Foster Phillips. We had two deaths in the family within the last month and funeral director, Mr. Harvey went above and beyond for both my grandmother’s arrangements and my father’s arrangements. He really cares about making sure that grieving families are happy with their experiences and made sure our arrangements for both of my loved ones went smoothly. My grandmother looked just as I will always remember her. My father was cremated and he has exceeded expectations. He doesn’t look at the people coming in there as people who are just spending money but as people in need of the best during a time of grief.

Beware Beware Awful Awful Awful if I could give zero stars I would Recent service June 30 close family member I don't know where to begin. Body had to be transported from another state. Due to their total negligence body sat in departing state for over a week. Paperwork not filled out correctly and immediate family had no idea what was going on. Family had 48 hours to travel 900 miles. On day of buriel Funeral Director and Hearst led 20 cars to wrong cemetery a family member had to direct the procession to the correct place. Director showed no empathy at all. Program incorrect, website not updated with his information for 3 weeks. They need to have their licensed revoked. Black owned business all of their clients are black they need to be held accountable for this disrespectful service. Go elsewhere.

I'm giving them 1 star but i truly believe they deserve no stars. They did absolutely nothing but transport my fathers body from one place to another and they charged full price as is they did embalming, dressing, and washing of my dear loved ones body. I was truly taken advantage of and i would definitely recommend going else where for your services. I felt robbed and taken advantage of after i was able to process everything because was grieving i just didn't have it in me to argue they took advantage of that. Well today i'm here to expose them $7,000 i paid to bring my father from one place to the next and that's literally all they did. The first funeral home charged $4,000 and that included everything and they did a wonderful job with my loved one. JUST BE CAREFUL DON'T FALL VICTIM!!! TRY OTHER FUNERAL HOMES!!

The staff were so rude to our guests. The tone of voice used was so unnecessary and disheartening in such a time of grief. During such horrible circumstances a mourner should not have to deal with staff that cannot kindly direct a funeral. COVID restrictions aside, rules, etc, there is a compassionate, discreet, and kind way to speak to people. Seriously lacking. We had to calm ourselves and guests down!! Many have tried to leave poor reviews but they keep getting rejected. The one positive is that they did a great job on our deceased loved one.

Grieving a lost family member is rough enough and J. Foster Phillips Funeral Home made our grieving and mourning experience worse than anyone could ever imagine. Joy Anne- Funeral Director lacked compassion and professionalism from the moment the contract was signed. Individuals had to stand outside in the cold to grieve as they were not allowed to enter the funeral home to view their lost family member. Before the service began, the Director walked grieving family and friends out (not privately but by announcing on a microphone for everyone to hear) and was extremely uncompassionate. Understandably, COVID is a factor but the way Joy Anne addressed the family and friends was completely unprofessional and cold hearted. If I had the energy and time, I would stand in front of the funeral home to ensure that no other grieving family signs a contract with this funeral home. Please beware families.... You will not be shown any empathy, compassion, or flexibility from J. Foster Phillips. Please go elsewhere.
