D’Anjolell Memorial Homes & Crematory’s first facility opened in 1963 in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia. We expanded, opening a Memorial Home in Broomall in 1978, a location in Upper Darby in 1983, a facility in Malvern-Frazer in 1999, and our two most recent additions, Aston in 2005, and our newest funeral facility, Wallingford opened in 2014. Over the years, we have grown in order to better serve you, but our family-owned values and our passion for helping others will never change.

During this difficult time, each and every person at Danjolell went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and part of an extended family. From the first time we called, to the day of the funeral. To the point that there was a medallion that I wanted for my father which was discontinued. They checked all their warehouses for it, found the last one & drove it all the way to the luncheon so that I could have it for my fathers memory. Their generosity and thoughtfulness goes beyond words.

Contacted this funeral company after the death of my son at 19 weeks. My husband and I were working with John Burdsail and Lulu Brooks. At first everything seemed appropriate filled out the paperwork 11 days after our loss on January 23 which included a $595 fee to transport our child from Bryn Mawr to Broomall. My husband spoke to John the day he emailed the paperwork who told him he would follow up once he was in their care. Now 3 weeks later I found out from the social worker at Bryn Mawr hospital that my son was picked up by them on January 20. We were NEVER called by John to inform us his remains had been picked up nor did he tell my husband when he spoke to him literally 3 DAYS after he was already in his care. I called 3 times this week to get answers as to what was going on prior to contacting Bryn mawr and my doctors office only to be told John would “call me back” which he never did even after I was crying and pleading that someone would give me information. John Burdsail lied, he told his other employees and Bryn Mawr hospital social worker he tried to contact us numerous times because he never received our paperwork. He had my number and 2 numbers for my husband. The worst part of the whole thing was the negligence of the other staff who never personally followed up with us. Not to mention a lot of funeral homes charge NOTHING when a young baby dies.. I transferred my son to Donohue Funeral Home to be taken care of without fee. As a bereaved parent with other young children at home I am appalled by the way we were treated. This man needs to be fired. The loss of a child is the worse kind of loss and I still can’t believe my son had been in their “CARE” for 3 weeks without a single call to figure out where our paperwork was..

Went to a funeral with the other day and by the time we got into the mass from the funeral line we had missed the whole eulogy. It was a disgrace. The same at the cemetery. There were note enough flowers or people handing them out. Had no direction at all from the funeral people. When Bob was the head years ago every detail was perfection. Now it is just an ordinary place.

I was extremely disappointed in the level of service and lack of empathy & compassion the funeral directors displayed. The viewing was unorganized and there was an extreme lack of direction, not to mention they appeared to not want to be bothered with being there. Fortunately our group is a take charge kind of group and we got things done, inspite of their lack of assistance.

Just had to lay my dad to rest a few weeks ago. Everyone within the funeral home was so helpful and compassionate. Thank you all for the amazing service and you really made everything very easy for us!
